Student Public Interest Scholarship
Awarded to a student who is currently pursuing either a discrete public interest project (for which funds will be used) or full time summer public interest employment (paid or unpaid) - $4000 (one scholarship offered). Student must show relationship of project to South Asia.
All applications will require an essay of no more than 300 words to show suitability to criterion, resume, and any other materials the applicant deems relevant. Applications should be sent electronically to pallavi.wahi@klgates.com and received by September 30, 2009.
Student Stipend (2 available)
Awarded to a current law student based on totality of factors, including but not limited to, contribution to the South Asian community, need, academic excellence and community involvement - $2000 (two scholarships offered). All applications will require an essay of no more than 300 words to show suitability to criterion, resume, and any other materials the applicant deems relevant. Student Loan Repayment
Awarded to one new lawyer (within 5 years of law school graduation or in the final year of law school) for repayment of law school loans based on a totality of factors, including but not limited to contribution to the South Asian community, financial need and community involvement-$5,000 (one student loan repayment is offered). Payment of scholarship requires proof of loan payments totaling at least $5,000 dollars. All applications will require an essay of no more than 300 words to show suitability to criterion, resume, and any other materials the applicant deems relevant.
