- The South Asian Bar Association of Washington (SABA), incorporated July 18, 2001, is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization composed of local attorneys and law students of South Asian descent, aimed at promoting pro bono legal services and educational outreach.
- Following the events of September 11, SABA published brochures on hate crimes and airport security regulations for members of the South Asian community. Click here for a pdf version of this document.
- Members of SABA provide pro bono legal services, including in the areas of family law, domestic violence, and immigration.
- In 2004, SABA created a national database of organizations that provide legal services for the South Asian community and shared the database with the National South Asian Bar Association (NASABA). Click here for a pdf version of this document.
- Members of SABA meet regularly to discuss legal issues and needs of the local South Asian community and to promote pro bono legal services and educational outreach.
- SABA hosts networking activities for South Asian lawyers and members of the local South Asian community.
- SABA formed a mentorship program for law students and young lawyers.
